Caroline Faindt
She first surrenders to the creative process,
she takes her time, follows her rhythm, confides to her canvas.
It’s a revealing, intimate, single-handed journey,
she builds, constructs with impetus, urge, desire, momentum.
She decides, she chooses, she opens doors,
she accepts lucky coincidences and happy accidents.
She plays with colors and gives life to shapes and movements.
She tries to paint not the surface but the soul, the true spirit of things.
Colors are her allies, her friends,
using them is instinctive, natural.
They are life, light, a driving force, the spine of her work,
they hug, intertwine, and capture the most precious moments.
Materials and textures nourish and anchor them,
they give them even more substance, make them more consistent.
The small metal keys offer an escape,
an opening on her universe, a promise of elsewhere.
She dances on her canvas, with consciousness, grace.
She wants to capture and retain the pure beauty of things.
She has a profound desire to carve a way on which everyone has their place.
This is the vision she wants to offer, the vision she wants to share.
There are crowds on her paintings, uniting to form a single bouquet,
the shapes and colors interlace and respond to each other.
Through these human chains, she claims her need for union and her love for life,
she wants to give free rein to her emotions, she wants to look deep inside.
She wants meaning and substance while keeping a form of innocence and lightness, like an adult looking at the world through their child eyes and just being themselves.
She wants a combination of strength and softness, of gentleness and balance,
she wants to color the world, tell stories, and write one that is common.
She wants to share her stories as stories only make sense when they are shared,
she wants others to prolong and perpetuate her vision of the world.
Through her art, she wants others to write their own story,
to give her paintings a second life, to prevent them from fading away, disappearing.
She is self-taught, she’s never been shown how to do it,
she looks, searches, experiments, seeks, and eventually finds the answers.
She paints because oftentimes words are not enough.
She paints to exist, to leave a mark - her mark.
Creating isn’t just her work, it’s her essential.
The paintbrush is an extension of her hand, painting acts like an indicator.
She is on a quest for truth and pleasure, she paints with her heart,
in total liberty and freedom, she wants to celebrate life.
