You’ve heard it a lot. « They’re OK, they’re successful, they’re rich ! » They’ve got a nice flat, a big car, a house by the sea. They’re wearing nice clothes, can go on nice trips, and not worry about restaurant bills.
Apparently that’s enough to have a beautiful life. Possessions, things.
What about feelings? What about love, and friendship, and purpose, and meaning? Can that be bought with money? Can money buy true connection?
Can money guarantee one will appreciate and value what they have? Can it guarantee they’re appreciated by others and have a good heart?
Can it prevent their traumas or addictions taking over? Are they not affected by other people treating them badly, showing less empathy, or trying to take advantage of them?
Can money make them impervious to malady, heartbreak, loss, social issues, catastrophe? Does it make them less sensitive to others’ problems? Less affected by others’ suffering?
Do they not want to be seen for who they are rather than what they have?
If rich people have everything, do poor people have nothing?
What is a rich life?
