Pespective

You sometimes lose perspective on things. You let yourself believe life can only be what it is. It can be a million things !

It is quite a lack of imagination to think nothing will ever change. You were 0 years old and now you’re 38.

Things do change. Granted, not always in the most life-changing way. And perhaps not as fast as you’d like them to. But remember where you were and where you’ve come to ? It could be your turn to get what you want.

Nope ! Still not !

OK. So, when will your turn be ? You’ve had your share of questioning and reassessment. (Who doesn’t ?) You’ve done some work because things as they were were just not working for you anymore. (Not a bad thing.)

It can’t be that hard if others have done it. Is it normal that it is taking you so much time and effort ?

It can get a little discouraging. A little heavy on the heart, a little tiring. Things might feel a little meaningless for a second. But then you’ll have a good talk with a friend. Or go for a walk in the park. And it will hit you : What’s with all the heaviness ?

“Lightly, child, lightly. Learn to do everything lightly. Lightly let things happen and lightly cope with them.”

You’ll remember what an insane thing it is to be human and alive. You’ll remember all the possibilities. And you’ll decide that you’ll bring change. You’ll make it worthwhile.

You’ll go buy miso paste and ramen. Who said you always had to eat the same food ? Take the same routes, do the same things, dress the same way, be around the same people ?

And you’ll go to sleep. And when you’ll wake up, it might all feel possible again.
