You can sleep a bit more. You can stay under the covers, write, stretch, read a few pages of your book. You can sleep again. Stay in the comfort of your bed. Choose the warmth over the cold, comfort over effort, the inside over the outside world.
But you could also take off those pjs and put those clothes on. Overcome the resistance. Press the pause button on your brain, let the body do its thing. Go for a walk while it’s still quiet, before the runners and the strollers take over.
And feel the wind caressing your hair and gently slapping your face. Touch some grass, air your soul, give extra space to your thoughts. Let your world be part of the world. Remember life really keeps going no matter what. It’s all moving and changing : the trees, the flowers, the ducks.
And then you could go buy your favorite pastry before it’s sold out.
