Thought you’re immortal?

Nothing like a good turbulence to set things straight. A good shake of your brain to realize that life can be long but it can also be very short. That funerals really are a funny thing : all these people you know meeting when you’re not there ? ^^

At least you had a great summer holiday. Can’t thank yourself enough for trying canoeing and going hiking with friends. For spending time with your family, for crossing one more Greek island off of your list. For going on that pickleball camp at the top of the mountains.

And if you survive this flight, you’re thinking, there is so much more to live, taste, and experience. No more leaving things for later. That’s overconfidence ! No more long stretches of time spent on being sad over a heartbreak, a rejection, a disappointment, a failure, a regret. Nothing is that important.

Not when you have a beating heart, breathing lungs, and a thinking brain. Not when you have the privilege to be alive and healthy. Not when those around you do as well. Can’t waste such a gift. Thought you’re immortal ?! ^^

Life is unpredictable, full of surprises. Some of them great, some not the best. Can’t control it. It’s kind of what makes it tough and exciting. Just do your part. And call those who love you a bit more often.

And trust!

That the pilot who’s looping the loops will get you landed safe.
