How to be more articulate

Success is dependent on our ability to communicate.

Great people are great in no small part because they’re articulate.

Our culture is based on a supremacy of the word.

Words turn chaos and possibility into habitable order.

Being articulate makes us compelling, graceful, and competent,

able to elucidate our visions, to convince other people.

It makes us able to entice them with our vision of what might be,

it makes us better equipped to formulate a strategy.

Being articulate makes us fire on all cylinders.

No matter what we do in life, it gives us an edge over others.

We can better negotiate, explain, make a case,

we can better think through our problems, advertise our services.

How do you become more articulate?

Enrich your vocabulary, listen, read.

Practice using the words, write about what you think.

Ask all the questions, be eager to know more.

Be guided by the spirit of honest inquiry, go on an exploratory endeavor.

When discussing with someone, learn to pause.

Reflect on the questions asked, the conundrums, the propositions.

Ask yourself : “What do I actually think about that”?

Give your thoughts time to make themselves known, don’t answer too fast.

Feel your way along to see what words are right.

Search for the stones you can walk on that are solid enough.

Some words are putting us together, others are tearing us apart.

Some are making us dissolute and weak, others make us feel stronger and intact.

Pay attention to what you say, listen to yourself.

Avoid all these fillers that are empty of meaning.

Take the time necessary to carefully craft your words.

Align what you say with who you are.

Being trustworthy and genuine makes for the most interesting conversations.

The pathway to success might be this, every word you say being reflective of what you believe.
